STUDENT ART

This lovely painting is by Lorrie, who is in my Wednesday night adult class. It's her interpretation of Canyon Lake, Texas, from a photo that she took. She worked magic with the acrylics to create this!

MORE STUDENT ART

How wonderful is this painting? Sandy did herself proud with this large canvas!

STUDENT ART FROM CASA DE LINDA

Posting more paintings recently completed in my classes at Casa de Linda Art Center in New Braunfels.

This serene painting of the Guadalupe River was completed by Kristi in my Wednesday night adult acrylics class. It's her first landscape painting although she took my Experimental Painting class last year.

Molly used a palette knife to paint this chicken in the Thursday night adult class...and believe it or not, this was the first time she tried this technique!

Always one to experiment and kick it up a notch, Mary, another Thursday night student, captured the sun in this landscape.

While Lorrie, who comes to the Wednesday night adult class, has worked in watercolor and oils before, she says that this mountain landscape was her first acrylic.

The lone guy in the Wednesday night adult class, Dean completed this sunset painting for his first project.

ADULT PAINTINGS - BASIC ACRYLIC CLASSES

My students have been turning out some amazing work this fall! Here are some of the latest paintings...all by FIRST-TIME painters in the on-going Basic Acrylic Painting for Adults at Casa de Linda Art Center!

1 and 2: There's a bit of theme in the first two paintings and it will come as no surprise since they are by the same artist. Sarah is a 17-year-old high school student and, as you can tell, she goes for the dramatic!

3: This colorful landscape is Lisa's first painting. She tackled a complex subject and succeeded beautifully!

4: Janelle took on a seascape for her first painting. She did a great job with details!

5: And finally, I think that Brenda even surprised herself with how well this little landscape turned out! Doesn't the road just invite you to explore?

THE AMAZING PEAR PAINTING

Isn't this just the most amazing "student" painting you've ever seen? Liz, the woman who painted this has been with me for about 2 years but has had a life-long interest in art. I'm so proud of her for picking up the brush again and challenging herself. Just look at what she has accomplished!

PAPIER MACHE SPIDERS

The girls in a recent "bug" themed art camp created these wonderful giant spiders in papier mache. Who says little girls are afraid of spiders?

These paintings are by students who have been coming to my basic class long enough that I don't think of them as beginners anymore! I think as you look at the work, you'll agree. (Casa de Linda Art Studio, New Braufels, Texas)
